The content of the lecture is composed of the following topics: Lecture “Fluid flow and heat transfer”: • Fluid properties • Fluid kinematics • Transport equation for mass, momentum, energy • Hydrostatics • Dimensional analysis and similarity • Viscous flows in pipes and pipe systems • Flow around immersed bodies • Heat transport (convection/conduction/radiation) Lecture “Thermodynamics of Fluid Mixtures” • First and second law of thermodynamics • Reversible and irreversible systems • Essential processes and their applications • Single component phase equilibria • Ideal and real multi-component mixtures In addition, the theoretical knowledge is applied to numerous excercises from the above-mentioned areas and thus deepened.
